Lasher Sentenced on Conspiracy Conviction

On April 26, 2011, Lasher Pedro Del Valle, Jr was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Raymond J. Dearie to three years probation, three hundred hours of community service and $19,074.00 in restitution. Del Valle, Jr. was arrested on October 13, 2010 for Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud and Wire Fraud in connection with his employment at New York Container Terminal. He pleaded guilty on January 20, 2011 to Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud, a felony. Del Valle is currently temporarily suspended by the Commission and awaiting his administrative hearing.
The case was prosecuted by AUSA Stephen Frank of the US Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York. The matter was investigated by Commission detectives and agents from the US Department of Labor - Office of the Inspector General.
