   Commission Suspends Registration of Arrested Local 1235 Delegate

On December 14, 2010, the Waterfront Commission temporarily suspended the longshore registration of ILA International Representative and Local 1235 Delegate Robert Ruiz, pending a Commission hearing.

Ruiz faces federal extortion charges, in the Eastern District of New York, for allegedly collecting and funneling more than $50,000 from members of his own union, to the Genovese Crime Family, by actual and threatened force, violence and fear.
