Checker Arrested by Commission Police for Extortion and Coercion
On May 11, 2020, Checker Stephen Bracco, the “Dock Boss’ of the LCL Warehouse at New York Container Terminal, was arrested by Waterfront Commission detectives for Grand Larceny in the Second Degree (Larcency by Extortion) and Coercion in the Second Degree. Bracco was arrested after he allegedly demanded and received cash in order to expedite the release of a container from the LCL Warehouse. Grand Larceny in the Second Degree is a Class C Felony and carries a sentence of up to 15 years in State Prison. The Queens District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case.
Bracco has been temporarily suspended from the Waterfront pending the outcome of his hearing.
