WAREHOUSEMAN SUSPENDED AFTER ARREST FOR THEFT OF COGNAC AND CONSPIRACY

   On November 28, 2017, the Waterfront Commission suspended the registration of Ulises A. Campos-Guzman and issued a Notice of Hearing. Campos-Guzman, age 30, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, a warehouseman employed at Harbor Freight Transport Corp. was arrested on charges of stealing two pallets of cognac from the warehouse in which he was employed. Campos-Guzman and a co-conspirator were observed on surveillance video transporting the pallets containing the alcohol via a forklift to a waiting truck which then drove off the premises. Campos-Guzman was subsequently arrested at the warehouse. He has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Theft and Theft.

   Campos-Guzman was suspended pending his administrative hearing on the charges. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is prosecuting the criminal charges.
