LONGSHOREMAN SUSPENDED FOLLOWING DEATH OF LONGSHOREMAN ON PIER

           Longshoreman Victor Belo has been suspended and a Notice of Hearing issued after his arrest on charges of second-degree Death by Auto or Vessel, Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. Belo operated a Top Loader while under the influence, resulting in the death of Judy Jones, a longshoreman. The Commission temporarily suspended Belo’s longshoreman registration pending the outcome of an administrative hearing. The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is prosecuting the criminal matter.
