Statement by Port Authority on Hiring Issues in the Port of New York and New Jersey

           "The Port Authority remains committed to building upon the hundreds of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in economic activity that the Port of New York and New Jersey provides to this region. To that end, the Port Authority has continued important dialogue with the industry and the Waterfront Commission regarding the hiring of additional employees in the harbor. The Waterfront Commission has agreed to postpone its November 25 hearing until early December and we are pleased with its continued willingness to reach an equitable resolution of this matter."
