Two Arrested in Cargo Theft Investigation by Waterfront Commission and Railroad Police

On Tuesday, December, 11, 2012, Detectives from the Waterfront Commission and the Norfolk Southern and CSX Railroad Police, arrested Robert Gorrie of 32 Ocean Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey and David Sharky of 166 Garfield Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey. The arrests were the result of an ongoing joint investigation into the theft of merchandise from cargo trains operating in the Port of New Jersey District. Gorrie and Sharky were charged with Burglary (2C:18-2 N.J.S.A), Conduct Designed to Aid Another in Commission of a Crime (2C:5-1 N.J.S.A), Possession of Burglar’s Tools (2C:5-5 N.J.S.A.), Interference with Transportation (2C:33-14 N.J.S.A.), and Trespassing (2C:18-5 N.J.S.A).
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is prosecuting the matter.
