Lasher Pleads Guilty in Federal Court

Island Securing & Maintenance lasher Pedro Del Valle, Jr. pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York on January 20, 2011. Del Valle, Jr. admitted that he and others submitted fraudulent time sheets that caused him to be paid more than $20,000.00 that he did not earn. Del Valle, Jr. will be sentenced on March 18, 2011.

The case was investigated by the Waterfront Commission and the United States Department of Labor – Office of the Inspector General and is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
