Checker Who Extorted Trucking Company Removed from Waterfront

September 17, 2010

   By Commission order dated September 14, 2010, Stephen T. Bracco, a checker, was removed from working on the Waterfront for extortion by demanding money, Super Bowl tickets and gift cards from a trucking company in order to release containers. Bracco had been arrested on May 11, 2010 by Commission detective and charged with Grand Larceny in the Second Degree (Extortion) and Coercion in the Second Degree.

   Pursuant to a plea agreement with the Queens District Attorney’s Office, Bracco today pleaded guilty to Petit Larceny and was sentenced to a one year conditional discharge and restitution in the amount of $1500.00 to the victim.
