Longshoreman Suspended After Arrest for Aggravated Assault for Stabbing an Individual Multiple Times

The Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor temporarily suspended the registration of longshoreman Jeffrey Brown, 51, of Union, New Jersey, pending an administrative hearing. Brown has been a longshoreman since 2006. The suspension was the result of Brown’s arrest on September 28, 2021, in Union, New Jersey for Aggravated Assault (a crime of the second degree), Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes (a crime of the third degree), and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (a crime of the fourth degree). Brown is alleged to have stabbed an individual on September 25, 2021 with a knife multiple times during a dispute, including to the face, neck, chest and shoulder.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is handling the criminal case.
