Crane Mechanic Temporarily Suspended from Waterfront Due to Federal Indictment for Tax Evasion and Failure to File Federal Income Tax Returns

The Commissioners today temporarily suspended the registration of Jonathan Michael, 52, of Springfield, New Jersey, a crane mechanic at Ports America, pending an Administrative Hearing.
Michael was indicted in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey for tax evasion and failure to file federal tax returns as required by law. The indictment, filed by the United States Attorney’s Office for New Jersey, alleges that Michael evaded paying taxes by failing to file federal tax returns from 2014 to 2018, a felony.
