Commission Denies Checker’s Request for Retention after He Presents Forged Doctor’s Note

           The Commission today denied Checker Joseph Donnelly’s Request for Retention. In support of his Request, Donnelly submitted a letter purportedly from his doctor indicating that he was seen by her on various dates. The purported Doctor’s note was in fact fraudulent and Donnelly did not appear at the doctor’s office as he claimed on the dates in question. The note contained incorrect information including a wrong address, incorrect spellings and telephone number. The Doctor’s signature was a forgery.

           The Waterfront Commission denied Donnelly’s Request for Retention as he failed to establish the requisite good cause for his failure to meet the work requirements and he was decasualized.
